Compared with programs such as Lumiere or Pioneer, the cost is approximately half, while the completed research journal offers significantly greater long-term value and versatility.

Producing a research journal at the level expected by The Concord Review is virtually impossible for a student to complete entirely alone. Professional coaching and systematic guidance are essential throughout the entire process, including topic selection, source research, thesis development, structural organization, citations and endnotes, and repeated revision and editing.

Because this is not a highly profitable program, most educational institutions are reluctant to offer such an intensive course. Nevertheless, SSLI & SS College Prep continues to operate this program because of its value in supporting students’ long-term academic growth and strengthening their competitiveness when applying to highly selective universities.

Strong motivation, consistency, and active participation from the student are essential. Once completed, however, the research journal may be used in a variety of ways, including college applications, activity lists, additional information sections, interviews, recommendation materials, and research or writing competitions.
